Ofelia Sala, soprano

Ofelia Sala was born in Valencia (Spain). She studied with Prof. Ana Luisa Chova, obtaining the Superior Degree in Singing awarded with the Conservatoire Final Honor Prize by unanimity. She also obtains there the Superior Degree in Piano and in Music Theory. His music education is completed at the Hochshule für Musik (Munich), where she undertakes a post-graduate Master in the Opera and Oratorium-Lied specialities. Several first prizes in national and international singing competitions distinguish the beginning of her professional career.

She has taken part in opera productions at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro Real in Madrid, Teatro Euskalduna in Bilbao, Oviedo Opera, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Metropolitan Opera House in New York, Chicago Lyric Opera, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Semperoper Dresden,  Oper Leipzig, Staatsoper Hamburg, Stuttgart, Prinzregententheater de Munich, Théâtre Châtelet in Paris, De Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam, New National Theater in Tokyo, National Opera in Seoul...where she has sung, among others, the roles: Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Aminta (Die schweigsame Frau),  Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Despina (Così fan tutte), Aspasia (Mitridate), Servilia (La Clemenza di Tito), Ginevra (Ariodante), Morgana (Alcina), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice),  Gilda (Rigoletto), Nannetta (Falstaff), Oscar (Un ballo in maschera), Norina (Don Pasquale), Tytania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Gänsemagd (Köningskinder), L'Ânge (Saint François d'Assise)...

Regarding concert and recital activity, Ofelia Sala has performed at Carnegie Hall in Nueva York, Wigmore Hall in London, Philharmonie and Konzerthaus in Berlin, Herkulessaal in Munich, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Philharmonie in Köln, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Palau de les Arts and Palau de la Música in Valencia, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Palau de la Música and Auditori in Barcelona, Ruhr-Triennale, KlangBogen Wien, Yehudi Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, Internationale Musikfestwochen in Luzern, Festival de Radio France in Montpellier, Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Festival Bach in Leipzig, Musicades in Lyon, Schubertiade in Barcelona and Vilabertrán, Quincena Musical in San Sebastian, Granada International Festival...

She has worked with distinguished conductors such as Yves Abel, Gerd Albrecht, Marc Albrecht, Harry Bicket, Bertrand de Billy, Herbert Blomstedt, Ivor Bolton, Frans Brüggen, Sylvain Cambreling, Harry Christophers, Paul Daniel, Andrew Davis, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Enrique García Asensio, M. A. Recently, he has appeared in  "Rigoletto" at Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, "Die Schweigsame Frau" and "Der Rosenkavalier" at Semperoper Dresden, "Un ballo in maschera" at Metropolitan Opera House in New York and in  Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and "Der Rosenkavalier" at New National Theater in Tokyo, as well as several concerts and recitals at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Alte Opern Frankfurt,  National Auditorium in Madrid and Palau de la Musica in Barcelona. Among her immediate projects are "Die Fledermaus" at Semperoper Dresden and Tokyo National Theater, concerts with the Valencia Palau de Les Arts orchestra, "Falstaff" at Royal Opera in Stockholm, "Un ballo in maschera" at New York Metropolitan Opera, "Le nozze di Figaro" at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, "Der Rosenkavalier" in Pekin and in Deutsche Oper Berlin and "Rigoletto" at Semperoper Dresden.
