Ofelia Sala, soprano

 

Ofelia Sala was born in Valencia (Spain). She studied at the Valencia Superior Conservatoire obtaining the Superior Degrees in Singing, Piano and Music Theory. Her music education is completed at the Meisterklasse at the Hochshule für Musik in Munich. Several first prizes in national and international singing competitions distinguish the beginning of her professional career.

She has taken part in opera productions at the Metropolitan Opera House de Nueva York, Lyric Opera Chicago, Teatro alla Scala in Milán, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro Real in Madrid, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Teatro Euskalduna ABAO in Bilbao, Oviedo Opera, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Deutsche Oper in Berlín, Semperoper Dresden, Oper Lepizig, Prinzregententheater in Munich, Théâtre Châtelet in París, New National Theater in Tokio, De Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam, National Opera in Seoul... where she has sung, among others, ther roles of Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Aminta (Die schweigsame Frau), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Aspasia (Mitridate), Gilda (Rigoletto), Nannetta (Falstaff), Norina (Don Pasquale), Ginevra (Ariodante), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice), Diana (L’Arbore di Diana), Adele (Die Fledermuas), Titania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and L'Ânge (Saint François d'Assise).

Regarding concert and recital activity, she has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Philharmonie and Konzerthaus in Berlin, Herkulessaal in Munich, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Philharmonie in Cologne, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Palau de la Música and Auditori in Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Palau de la Musica in Valencia, Ruhr-Triennale, KlangBogen Wien, Yehudi Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, Internationale Musikfestwochen in Luzern, Beijing MusicFestival, Festival de Radio France in Montpellier, Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Festival Bach in Leipzig, Schubertiade in Barcelona and Vilabertran, Granada International Music Festival...
